Overview
The Broad Peak Expedition is an extraordinary high-altitude mountaineering journey to the summit of Broad Peak, rising to 8,051m in the heart of Pakistan’s Central Karakoram. The expedition begins with the approach through the remote mountain communities of Baltistan before entering the legendary Baltoro Glacier and reaching Concordia, one of the most spectacular mountain junctions in the world, surrounded by K2, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum and other giant peaks. From Base Camp, the expedition moves into the demanding climbing phase, with carefully planned acclimatization rotations and progressive establishment of higher camps on the mountain. Climbers face steep snow and ice, extreme altitude, unpredictable weather, strong winds and the physical challenges of spending extended periods in the death zone. The route requires excellent physical conditioning, previous high-altitude experience, technical mountaineering skills and strong teamwork.
